Collection Highlight: STImaging Microfilm Readers
The Chickamauga and LaFayette-Walker County branch libraries have a shiny new gizmo in their history rooms. The STImaging reader goes above and beyond the normal microfilm reader.
The new machine is physically smaller, and can read any film type (microfilm, microfiche, film negatives and slides). It connects to computer software that makes it easier to manipulate and edit the image. The image can then be printed to a high quality printer, saved to a flash drive, or emailed. The old one could just print to an older printer. The software allows you to save multiple images in one file instead of individually.
For families who have been holding on to film negatives and slides--this is a machine that can help you get those digitized and saved for the whole family to enjoy for years to come.
