eRead Kids: eBooks and audiobooks for kids

This free collection of ebooks and audiobooks is for kids in Pre-K to fourth grade. The collection is a mix of over 20,000 fiction and non-fiction titles that can be downloaded onto computers, tablets, and smartphones.

The login page will ask you for your library card number, and your Pin. The pin is your PINES password. (Having trouble remembering your PINES password? Try the last four digits of the daytime phone number you gave us when you signed up for your library card. If that doesn’t work, call any of our branch libraries with your library card number in hand, and we can reset it over the phone. Students with a PLAY card, use your two-digit birth month and four-digit birth year)

Digital Library of Georgia: Newspapers, local history & more
The Digital Library of Georgia (DLG) connects users to more than 745,000 digital objects in more than 1100 collections from over 160 libraries, archives, state agencies, historical societies, museums, theological organizations, and cultural heritage institutions. Developed by incorporating input from end users, librarians, and other stakeholders, this site is designed to provide simple navigation and quick access to these resources for all audiences.

Visitors can find materials from a wide range of topics and time periods including: relations between the early government and the Native peoples, the arts, public education, the World Wars, civil rights, economics, and politics from revolutions through present. These resources provide insight into the state’s diverse populations and geography.

Primary resources include government documents, books, newspapers, photographs, historical manuscripts, audio, video and more.

This site also home to Georgia Historic Newspapers, which includes keyword searchable access to the Dade County Sentinel and Walker County Messenger.

Ancestry Library Edition delivers billions of records in census data, vital records, directories, photos, and more from countries all over the world. It’s resources cover the United States and the United Kingdom, including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records, as well as record collections from Canada, Europe, Australia and other areas of the world.

ProQuest Ancestry Library Edition includes:

  • U.S. collections – hundreds of millions of names from sources such as the federal census; birth, death, and marriage records including the Social Security Death Index; and U.S. border crossing and trans-ocean ship records.
  • Military collections – more than 150 million records from the colonial to the Vietnam era, including World War I and II draft cards, POW records, and casualty records.
  • Multimedia collections – millions of files ranging from family and gravestone photos to postcards and newsreels.
