North Georgia Talking Book Outreach Center
The North Georgia Talking Book Outreach Center has been going through some major changes since September. There have been 13 subregional Libraries for the Blind and Physically Handicapped located throughout Georgia. For many years there has been discussion about consolidating several of the subregionals, especially those that are close to each other geographically. Two things happened recently that led us to decide now is the time to consolidate. Our manager, Charles Stubblefield took early retirement and we received news that there would be a state mandated cut of $12,000 to our subregional library. These two events led to the decision to consolidate the North Georgia Talking Book Center with the Rome Subregional Library.
Beginning November 1, 2008, the Rome Subregional Library for People with Disabilities will handle all of your reader's advisory and book request issues. Their toll-free number is listed in their contact information below. The staff in Rome is dedicated to the mission of serving you!
