Historical Scavenger Hunt at the LaFayette-Walker Branch

Just in time for some fall fun, the Lafayette-Walker County Library is pleased to present the Historical Scavenger Hunt!

Starting on Monday, August 28th, a clue will be posted on the doors of the Heritage Room, located in the Lafayette-Walker County Library. Participants will need to read the clue, interpret which historical site around Lafayette we could be leading you to and then try to locate it! At the correct site, you will find a special envelope that has the history of the site printed on the front of it, and a series of die cut shapes enclosed. One die cut shape should be collected at the site. The location changes on Sunday, and the new clue will be posted on the following Monday morning. You must come to the library to receive the clue!

It’s easy to get involved! Simply come to the library and register at the front desk. One entry per family, and each family will receive a “Walking Tour of Lafayette” historical brochure with all possible sites located on it, as well as a manila envelope to enclose your die cut shapes in.

The final turn in will be at the Library Booth, located at the Heritage Festival on Saturday October 7th, between 10am and 4pm. Each turn in must have one of each of the 6 die cut shapes to win. A winner will be selected from the eligible entries and a goodie bag full of great prizes will be awarded!

Registration starts on Monday August 21st at the circulation desk of the Lafayette-Walker County Library! Join us in learning a little bit more about the Queen City of the Highlands!
