The Johnny Cash Fundraiser
The Friends of the LaFayette-Walker County Library in partnership with Picnooga.org, a Chattanooga History Project, and the LaFayette Woman’s Club are pleased to present the Johnny Cash Fundraiser to benefit the children’s programming at the LaFayette-Walker County Library.
For a donation of $15 you’ll receive a 44th Anniversary reimaged Johnny Cash Concert 18”x24” poster from his August 13th, 1970, LaFayette, GA. concert, a VIP story card with lanyard that commemorates the inspirational story of Walker County Sheriff Ralph Jones and Johnny Cash, and a local student designed collectable guitar pick from the LaFayette-Walker County Library. For a donation of $65 you’ll receive all of the above. In addition your poster will be signed by illustrator Ron Ott and John Carter Cash, son of the late Johnny and June Cash. (Offer is in a limited edition).
For an additional donation of $5 (when selecting one of the above items) you are entered into a raffle for a Nashville prize package, which includes two tickets to the Johnny Cash Museum, The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, The Grand Ole Opry and one night stay with breakfast at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN. (a prize package worth approximately $500). Additional chances on this raffle are $10 each.
For a donation of $20, or 3 chances for $50, you’re entered to win a Gibson SJ-100 6-string Acoustic-electric Guitar with a retail value of $3,000.00. Only 375 chances for this guitar will be available.
Advance sales for the poster will be available Monday April 7th on the Website www.johnnycashconcert.com and in-person sales at the Library begin Tuesday April 17th following a media event which will run from 4 – 5 p.m. that day. Raffles also begin on the 17th. On April 26th the LaFayette Optimist Club will sponsor an outdoor Movie in the Park event featuring “Walk the Line” at the Joe Stock Park in LaFayette, GA. Movie starts at approximately 9:00 pm and posters will be available for a donation as detailed above.
The LaFayette Woman’s Club will be offering t-shirts and refreshments at various opportunities with details still to come. The LaFayette-Walker County Library is the largest branch in the Cherokee Regional Library System and is home to the headquarters of the Cherokee Regional Library System. The LaFayette-Walker County Library has a materials circulation of approximately 70,000 (FY 2013). Twenty-two internet accessible computers (6 windows machines and 16 Google Chromeboxes) are available free of charge for use while at the library. It also features Wi-Fi, magazines, newspapers, Genealogy services and multiple youth programs.
