Overdue book fee increases from 10 cents to 20 cents effective July 1, 2012.
At its annual meeting in May, the PINES Executive Committee voted to increase the overdue fee for books from 10 cents per day to 20 cents per day, effective July 1, 2012. The July fine increase will affect books in the collections of all PINES member libraries. Similar fee increases for overdue magazines, audio books, compact discs and other items are currently under review by PINES subcommittees and could be implemented in the coming months. Books checked out before July 1 will be charged a late fee 10 cents per day even if they are returned on or after July 1. Books checked out or renewed July 1st or later will be charged a late fee of 20 cents per day.
